We are both 7 day members at Crookhill Golf Course and are members of the golf club too, where we regularly play in competitions.
We block booked 6 lessons each with Betty. She asked us what we wanted from the game and where we wanted to start. A question I thought strange at first but what better way to get you to “buy into something” than to have you suggest it. We were hooked!! Over the next six lessons we covered the major disciplines of golf.
Bettys’ style of teaching is laid back but very focused. Her attention to detail is very precise. On one such occasion she dvd recorded and played back a recording of my swing to show, the out to in swing I had. Betty regularly used accessories / aids to help with that particular exercise, chip nets, guide rods. Our last lesson covered course management, with a walk up the 18th. As amateurs we think we know everything but it is enlikening to see a pro’s approach to this important aspect of golf.
Betty has recently undergone surgery to her foot which kept her out of the game for 10 weeks? While I can see the downside of not playing for her, the injury in no way detracted from her love for and enthusiasm for the sport.
I regularly speak to Betty about my rounds of golf. Betty is one of the most unselfish people I have met and genuinely wants her students to improve. She also has a sympathetic shoulder to cry on, when needed but will always have a positive mental attitude and give structured advice to move your game forward.
I wish her a speedy recovery as (selfishly) I would like more lessons to improve my game further.
I have finally found some-one who enthuses about the game of golf as much as myself, that person is Betty.
